During the celebration of the Synaxis of the Holy Angelic and Blessed Powers
During Saturday evening’s liturgy at the Good Shepherd Chapel, our parish gathered in joy as Father Matthew and Presbytera Lianna presented their newest daughter for Holy Baptism. Surrounded by family, friends, and the warmth of the congregation, the baptismal font was brought to the front of the chapel and the sacred rite began.
Chloe Rose was immersed in the blessed waters, born anew in Christ, and anointed with Holy Chrism, sealing her with the gifts of the Holy Spirit. Her small head was tonsured in the ancient sign of dedication, and she was clothed in a radiant new baptismal robe, symbolising purity and the light of the Resurrection. A cross was placed upon her, marking her as a disciple of Christ.
With joy, Metropolitan Raffaele performed the Dance of Isaiah, circling the altar as hymns echoed through the chapel. She was then offered under the protection of the Theotokos, entrusted to the prayers and love of the Mother of God.
As the liturgy continued, she received her final blessings, embraced by a parish family who rejoiced together at this new beginning. It was a moment of grace, hope, and profound beauty — a reminder that each new baptism renews not only a child, but the whole community in faith.
